Voices of the Past…

FoundvoicesI was intrigued to find this video with recordings from voices of former slaves from a 1999 Nightline broadcast with Ted Koppel cross my Facebook newsfeed. The original poster wrote: “One of the best ways to learn your history is from the voice of someone who lived it…” I am sure at that time, I gave little thought to this treasure, but today…

Listening and REMEMBERING is what drives me…

To stop making excuses…

We have SO MUCH MORE and yet do so little…

The abundance of options has seemingly paralyzed our ambition…

Most only fear the emotional and psychological discomfort that being extraordinary requires. ALL of humanity has a responsibility to BE and DO BETTER…

But especially those who know that the history of the place you call home does not reflect or acknowledge the GREATNESS in your lineage.

If we do not care to do it for ourselves, we can at least DO BETTER for the LEGACY we will leave for our children’s children.

Ted Koppel mentioned thousands of miles of video tape that would tell our great great grandchildren their ancestors’ (our) stories… Hmph! He had no idea… We are digital now…

Hmmm… I need to find out where those documents and recordings are…
